The National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), formally known as the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) is the focal point, the main referral centre and main training centre for infectious diseases in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Angoda, Colombo on a 34 acre block of land, consisting of 300 beds.

Out Patient Services

Out Patient Department (OPD) is a unit committed to deliver an exceptional outpatient care service. It functions from 8.00am to 12pm and 2.00pm to 8.00pm on Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 12.00pm on Saturdays. There are separate Consultation area, outdoor dispensary, dressing room, sampling area, nebulization area, and Continuous Care Coordination Center for fever patients (4C for Fever), Health Education Unit for OPD patients

In Patient Services

The experienced and well trained staff is our strength of our inpatient care service. Being a 300-bed hospital, wards are divided into Preliminary Care Unit, Medical Unit, Isolation unit, Dengue High Dependency unit, HIV Unit, Bhikkhu ward and Intensive Care Unit. All together there were 19621 admission to the hospital in year 2023.
